"I’d have to go backwards to talk about a work that has been formative: Piero della Francesca’s Polyptych of Saint Anthony (c. 1470) at the Galleria Nazionale dell’Umbria in Perugia, specifically the annunciation scene. It is important for me, and for some of the Italian artists that I have worked with associated with Arte Povera."
